Pharmacy Commencement Class 2009 Run
Pharmacy Commencement Class Giving Run 2009 is specially organized to commemorate the journey which our graduating class had gone through in the past 4 years. It signifies the unity and relationships forged over the years as a Pharmily. We recognize the fact that each of us is able to complete this journey together is not based on an individual effort but as a united batch, all willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Hence, we are coming together to raise funds with the intention that our contribution can make a difference in someone else's life and also to provide the comfort and relief as a family. We thank Ms Chew Ying Ying of Pharmacy, colleagues of NUS Development Office KZin Myo and Emilie Jouno and OSHE for their guidance and support.
Our 2009 graduating class held the 4.3km run on the 17 April 2009, Friday from 6.15-7.30pm, right after their very last lecture at NUS around campus. The flag-off and end of the run was at the S4 Pharmacy building.

This fundraising effort quickly surpassed the target of $2009 (and still growing) with donations from:
- Lecturers who pledged to give $1 or more per student and staff who completed the run.
- Many students who ran and also pledged $1 or more per lecturer who joined in the run.
- Pharmacy alumni, Mr Koe Khoon Poh, Mr Lim See Wah, Mr Lam Pin Woon, Dr Ho Han Kiat, Mr Ian Wee and Mr Ng Boon Tat, contributed.
- Others such as the NCBV group across the globe.

Ee Sang "It's spring time and time to fight the flab! We are from the Class of 2009 back in NUS Pharmacy. Although we won't be graduating with them, we are pleased to join them by organizing a parallel fundraising run here for NCBV community."
Liu Yuan Tai wrote "Special thanks go to Joy, Farveez and the organising committee for putting in much effort to organize the entire event. A total of 98 people participated in the run! Most importantly, the run showcased the spirit of Pharmacy. As the students, staff and postgraduate students ran side by side for a common cause, we showed that Pharmacy is indeed unique in our willingness to rally behind a good cause. The future benefactories will no doubt be greatly encouraged that they have joined such a united and strong family. Once again, I thank the teaching staff for their contributions (in money and in kind). And to the Commencement Fund administrators, thank you for providing valuable advice and assistance. I'm truly proud to be a part of such a dynamic and passionate family! After all, success is a journey, not just a destination."

"I think this run is not only a joyous one, but also a pensive one, considering how much we, as a class, have grown throughout these 4 years. I never dreamt that I would be in such a big and wonderful family when I stepped into NUS. It is truly an honour and blessing to come this far together with such a close-knit pharmily! Thank you for joining us on our last stretch of journey in our undergraduate life and most importantly, teaching and guiding us at different parts of it. Our journey would not be complete without you :)"
